SLU Rewards Program for AAO, ABO, and AAOF Volunteers

Based on our admiration for the many volunteers who come to St. Louis to serve on the various Boards, councils and committees of the AAO, ABO, and AAOF, the Orthodontic Program at the Center for Advanced Dental Education at Saint Louis University has established a continuing education opportunity that will be free-of-charge to those individuals.

As part of our graduate program at SLU, we schedule guest speakers and courses that are designed to augment and extend the orthodontic curriculum for our students. We list the various speakers and courses on our web site (http://cade.slu.edu) and invite you to scan the upcoming courses and guest speakers.

If you serve the AAO, ABO, or AAOF as a volunteer and you would like to attend one or more of the C.E. opportunities at SLU (approximate to the time you are in St. Louis to serve as a volunteer) we invite you to join us for some continuing education. In respect for your service to the specialty, for all courses and speakers sponsored by the orthodontic program, there will be no registration or other fees and C.E. credit will be provided.

Our only requirement of the AAO, ABO, and AAOF volunteers that wish to attend a course or lecture will be to send us an email, prior to the offering, indicating the course or lecture that they wish to attend. We need this information to communicate with you in the event a course or lecture is rescheduled or canceled. You must send this information directly to Dr. Behrents (Behrents at SLU.EDU).

As this program has just been initiated, only a few of our scheduled courses will “line up” with meetings of the AAO, ABO, and AAOF. Over time, you will find that the schedules are better synchronized, so check our web site before each visit to St. Louis.

Please be aware that if you extend your stay in St. Louis to attend a course, you may be responsible for any additional expenses beyond that reimbursed by the AAO, ABO, and AAOF.

We have created this program solely to provide a reward in recognition of the time and effort spent by volunteers in service to the specialty. We appreciate the work you do and hope you are able to join us.
